Earlier this month, I attended Kidney Week, the American Society of Nephrology’s annual meeting. Though it was my 15th year attending the meeting, I returned more energized than ever. What’s clear to me and to my colleagues is that we are on the brink of a seismic shift in how we treat kidney disease in the U.S., and now is the time for nephrologists to take the lead in that transformation.
