Cricket Health puts company culture first in mission to help those with chronic kidney disease live their best lives

San Francisco and Boston (May 12, 2021), Inc. Magazine Cricket Health has been named to Inc. Magazine’s annual list of the Best Workplaces for 2021. Hitting newsstands May 18 in the May/June 2021 issue, and as part of a prominent feature, the list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of American companies that have created exceptional workplaces and company culture whether teams are operating in person or remotely.

Cricket Health’s mission is to transform the kidney care status quo that fails kidney patients by detecting kidney disease only once they’re on the verge of kidney failure, forcing them into lifetime dialysis treatment. Cricket Health is a comprehensive kidney care provider that uses its StageSmart™ proprietary machine learning disease identification model to identify kidney disease early and enroll patients in the MyCricket™ comprehensive patient support program, providing them with a multidisciplinary care team that stays with them throughout their care journey. In their initial deployments, Cricket Health’s programs have seen a 65 percent reduction in hospital admissions among enrolled members; a 94 percent patient satisfaction rate; and a 90 percent patient retention rate.

“Cricket Health puts culture first by centering our core values both in the hiring process and our daily work,” said Bobby Sepucha, CEO of Cricket Health. “We take it personally, caring deeply about our patients, colleagues, and community; we take responsibility and get it done. We bring joy to our work with relentless optimism, and we value each individual’s unique journey. Most of all, we dare mighty things, because we know the U.S. status quo of kidney care needs to change, and big change demands bold action.”

Cricket Health hires mission-driven people who take pride in ensuring that kidney patients live their best lives. Once employees are onboarded, management clearly communicates with each team and team member, ensuring that everyone knows exactly how their responsibilities align with the company’s goals. Management also holds itself accountable using objective standards to identify areas for improvement: in the most recent quarterly poll, 92% of respondents agreed that the company lives up to its values and 91% agreed that Cricket Health’s mission makes their job feel important.

Collecting data from thousands of submissions, Inc. singled out 429 honorees this year. Each nominated company took part in an employee survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace, on topics including management effectiveness, perks, and fostering employee growth. The organization’s benefits were also audited to determine the company’s overall score and ranking.

“The definition of a positive workplace has changed drastically over the past year,” says Inc. magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “Stocked fridges and nap pods were no longer perks many companies could rely on once work went remote. So, this year’s list is even more important as it reveals organizations that continue to enrich the lives of its employees amid a pandemic.”
